Introduction

Al- Maktoum College of Engineering and Technology (AMCET) began its operations in January 2010, whereby short courses in Computer studies were offered, and by July 2010, Basic Technician Certificate in Information Technology by then provisionally registered with NACTE, commenced.

Currently AMCET provides one year Basic Technician Certificate and two years Ordinary Diploma courses in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering and Information System and Network Technology.

AMCET is owned by The Registered Trustees of Al-Maktoum Foundation of Tanzania. AMCET is fully registered and accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) under the registration number REG/EOS/039. The College is situated in Dar es Salaam at Plot no. 54 Ally Sykes Road, Tangibovu - Mbezi Beach, 7.3 km from Mwenge off Ali Hassan Mwinyi Road to Bagamoyo in the easterly direction.
